As a valued member of our Highland Ophthalmology Associates patient community, we want you to know that we continue to keep our doors open to serve your eye healthcare needs during this national pandemic and are scheduling appointments. We hope that you and your family are safe and well during these unprecedented times that we are currently experiencing.

Please rest assured that our office is following all recommended guidance from public health authorities, including best practices for hygiene, infection control, and medical professional team health.

Not sure if you should come in? Please call our office and speak with one of our assistants to discuss your current situation. Telemedicine video-consultations are available to some patients who need to be seen but either cannot or do not wish to come into the office and may be an appropriate option for you. Please call us at (845) 562-0138, to see if you are an appropriate candidate for this telemedicine option.

We kindly ask that you come unaccompanied to your appointment unless it is absolutely necessary. If you feel it is critical that you be accompanied, your accompanier will also be screened. This may include checking your temperature upon arrival.

Otherwise, please do not bring spouses or children to your appointment for everyone's safety and wellbeing.

As a reminder, Governor Cuomo has mandated that masks must be worn in public places and are required to be worn in this office. We will not supply masks due to the shortage of PPE (Protective Personal Equipment) in our area.

We kindly ask that you stay home and call the office to reschedule your appointment if you or someone you may have come in contact with, are exhibiting the following symptoms:

• Sore throat
• Cough
• Stuffy/Runny nose
• Fever
• Body aches
• Loss of sense of smell and taste
• Diarrhea
• Had contact with anyone who tested positive for COVID-19, the flu or pneumonia.

We are hopeful for a speedy recovery from this unique and stressful time and the resumption of normal daily living.

Dr. Mary Davidian, Dr. Thien Huynh and Dr. Julia Mathew have Advanced Fellowship Training in their areas of expertise and together have performed thousands of cataract, refractive, laser and glaucoma surgery procedures. Fellowship Trained medical doctors undergo an additional one to two years of sub-specialty training beyond the required three to four years of general ophthalmology residency training.

Highland Ophthalmology has been providing Specialty Eye Care services in Orange County, NY and the Greater New Windsor area since 1997. Many of our patients are referred to us by other ophthalmologist and optometrist colleagues who regard us as experts in our specialties. Our patients appreciate the Specialty Eye Care they receive in the area of Cataract, Cornea and Glaucoma surgery. Dr. Davidian and Dr. Huynh are affiliated with the leading medical and academic centers in the New Windsor and greater NY Metropolitan area including: The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, The Westchester Medical Center, Central New York Eye Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Our office is conveniently located in New Windsor, NY. In the past, patients needing specialty eye care services had to be referred to physicians in New York City or Albany, since access to Fellowship Trained Cornea and Glaucoma Surgeons was not available locally. Patients not only had to travel far distances for their surgeries, but also had to continue to travel far for their follow up care.
